Human Resources is responsible for all personnel functions, which includes employment, compensation and benefits, payroll, staff development, employee relations, labor relations, contract administration and negotiation, etc. Human Resources is the liaison with Monroe County Civil Service in matters concerning civil service law, procedures, job descriptions, and classifications. The department is responsible for the development and administration of Human Resource policies and procedures and for ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal labor laws.

Town Employment Opportunities:

NUTRITION AIDE - Part Time:

This position is responsible for heating and serving food and related duties for senior citizens. Employee will prepare freshly made sandwiches and soups daily and assist with other activities related to the nutrition program. Employee must obtain a valid food worker Level I (Food Handler in charge) or Level II (Food Worker) Certificate approved by the Monroe County Health Department during the probationary period or be separated from the position. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of a Recreation Leader or other higher-level staff member. Employee must be computer proficient in Microsoft office and prepare computer generated county reports.

DOG CONTROL OFFICER - Part Time / On Call:

This position will involve picking up stray animals and transporting them to the proper holding facility. Requires pick up, removal and proper disposal of wildlife and dead animals from roadways and private property. Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.

SCHOOL TRAFFIC GUARD - Part Time:

The Irondequoit Police Department is always accepting applications for the position of Part Time School Crossing Guard. The hours vary throughout the day, with a rate of $11.10 per hour. Candidates will ensure the safety of school children as they cross the street in the crosswalks to and from school. Candidates should be able and willing to work outside, in any weather conditions. Uniforms and equipment are provided.
