Human Resources is responsible for all personnel functions, which includes employment, compensation and benefits, payroll, staff development, employee relations, labor relations, contract administration and negotiation, etc.  Human Resources is the liaison with Monroe County Civil Service in matters concerning civil service law, procedures, job descriptions, and classifications.  The department is responsible for the development and administration of Human Resource policies and procedures and for ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal labor laws.

CLERK in the BUREAU OF RECREATION - Part Time:

This position provides both professional level and clerical level administrative support. Must be a detail orientated person who is comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment. Exceptional communication skills are necessary as well as being able to complete projects in a timely manner all in support of various town wide special events. Duties include contacting existing and potential vendors and sponsors, as well as contract creation and general administrative duties as assigned. Will also coordinate the production and distribution of related brochures and information and makes sure the appropriate publications and news media are aware of our events.

JUNIOR ENGINEER in the BUREAU OF PUBLIC WORKS - Full Time:

This is a skilled position responsible for supervising, coordinating and performing professional engineering work in the design and construction of streets, sidewalks, wastewater, drainage and other public works projects. This position will also assist in conducting preliminary studies of engineering projects and helping prepare plans for public improvements such as streets, storm water drainage systems, sanitary sewer systems, sidewalk construction projects among other related projects., Responsibility will also include estimating the cost of various capital improvement projects, reviewing maps & infrastructure improvement plans and supporting the relationship between the Town and the Residents at various internal and external meetings. Will also be responsible for completing and submitting reports to state and federal agencies and performing field inspections at various public works projects.

SUMMER CAMP COUNSELOR - Seasonal:

  • Summer Camp Staff applications will be accepted from Dec. 6th - May 4th
  • Positions include: Assistant Camp/Playground Program Supervisor, Camp Directors, Woodcraft Director, Counselors, and Woodcraft Counselors.
  • If selected, interviews will take place in mid-May. Candidates will be notified via phone call with an interview date, time, and location.
  • You must be at least entering senior year in High School or older in order to apply for a Summer Camp Staff position.

Junior Leader Volunteer Program for Summer Camp - Seasonal:

  • Junior Leader applications accepted from Dec. 1st - June 1st. Interviews will take place in mid-June.
  • This is a volunteer position for young adults entering grades 10-11.
  • A limited number of 9th graders selected for volunteering at KinderCamp.
  • Applicants must volunteer for at least two consecutive weeks.

IRONDEQUOIT POLICE DEPT. CLERK - Part Time:

ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER - Part Time:

This position will involve picking up stray animals and transporting them to the proper holding facility. Requires pick up, removal and proper disposal of wildlife and dead animals from roadways and private property.

 SCHOOL TRAFFIC GUARD - Part Time:

The Irondequoit Police Department is always accepting applications for the position of Part Time School Crossing Guard. The hours vary throughout the day, with a rate of $10.00 per hour. Candidates will ensure the safety of school children as they cross the street in the crosswalks to and from school. Candidates should be able and willing to work outside, in any weather conditions. Uniforms and equipment are provided.
