Human Resources is responsible for all personnel functions, which includes employment, compensation and benefits, payroll, staff development, employee relations, labor relations, contract administration and negotiation, etc. Human Resources is the liaison with Monroe County Civil Service in matters concerning civil service law, procedures, job descriptions, and classifications. The department is responsible for the development and administration of Human Resource policies and procedures and for ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal labor laws.

Town Employment Opportunities:


This position is responsible for assisting recreational personnel with the daily routine tasks surrounding assigned program activities. Employee may be required to assist in a single recreation activity or several activities. Employee must be able to work with participants of all ages.

Summer Camp Staff Application / Packet

  • Summer Camp Staff applications will be accepted from January 1 – May 1, 2019
  • Positions include: Counselors, Office Staff, Sports Specialist, Camp Directors
  • If selected, interviews will take place in mid-May. Candidates will be notified via phone call with an interview date, time, and location.
  • You must be at least entering 11th grade to apply for a summer camp staff position and at least 16 years old.

Jr. Leaders Application / Packet

  • Junior Leader applications accepted from January 1st until May 17, 2019. Interviews will take place in mid-June.
  • This is a volunteer position for young adults entering grades 9-11
  • Applicants must volunteer for at least two consecutive weeks


The Irondequoit Police Department is always accepting applications for the position of Part Time School Crossing Guard. The hours vary throughout the day, with a rate of $11.10 per hour. Candidates will ensure the safety of school children as they cross the street in the crosswalks to and from school. Candidates should be able and willing to work outside, in any weather conditions. Uniforms and equipment are provided.
