Volunteer Opportunities 

Want to volunteer, but not sure where to go? 

The organizations listed below will match you to the charity or non-profit that best fits your schedule, interests, and talents. 

The Volunteer Connection, operated by the United Way of Greater Rochester, links more than 200 people each month with local volunteering opportunities (click here).  

RochesterCares, affiliated with the National Hands On Network, matches volunteers with one-day activities – sometimes lasting just one or two hours – making this the perfect network for the time-pressed (click here). 

The Community Wishbook is an exhaustive catalogue listing more than 230 local nonprofits’ charitable needs (click here). 

Campus Connections, operated by the United Way of Greater Rochester, matches college students with area volunteering projects.  The program allows students to apply for funds to cover any supplies or out-of-pocket expenses that may be associated with their chosen project (click here). 

Bureau Advisory Board Members,  The Irondequoit Youth Bureau Advisory Board works to ensure that there is a continuum of services and resources available to youth (0-21) and their families to meet their needs.  It has the ultimate objective of promoting positive youth development for all youth through a variety of venues and resources.  For more information or an application please call Irondequoit Parks and Recreation at 585-336-6085
