The Environmental Sustainability Advisory Council is charged with:

  • Assisting with, and monitoring, the implementation of the Town’s energy and environmental policy.
  • Increasing public awareness and providing feedback on the effectiveness of the Town’s public outreach efforts.
  • Serving as a sounding board to the Supervisor and Town Board on Town actions that affect the environment.
  • Serving as an advocate with the Town Board, other elected officials, and community leaders for sustainability.
  • Issuing an annual report to the Town Board and community measuring the Town’s progress towards sustainability as outlined in the energy and environmental policy.

Environmental Sustainability Advisory Council members include professional and lay residents and stakeholders involved with environmental matters, and Town staff.   The entire Environmental Sustainability Advisory Council meets quarterly; subcommittees meet more frequently.
