
2008 Junior Police Academy CampJuly 14-18 August 11-15
Camp EastmanThis one-week program, presented by the Irondequoit Police Department, is open to youngsters between the ages of 12 and 16. (DARE graduates welcome regardless of age.) Camp members will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of programs and events that allow them see first hand the roles and responsibilities of law enforcement. Camp hours: Monday -- Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, 9:00 a.m. to noon Topics of instruction: In addition to these topics, camp members will participate in a variety of recreational events and field trips to other locations.
This program was developed to meet the needs of adolescents in our community and to provide them and their families an opportunity to interact with members of the Irondequoit Police Department in a very informal manner. The program also provides the Irondequoit Police Department an opportunity to educate citizens and increase the level of awareness about public safety issues in our community.

Irondequoit Police Department Community Services Unit 336-6000 x2287 Advanced Jr. Police Academy - CSI CampJuly 21-25 A five day camp that gives participants a hands on opportunity to learn how to process a crime scene along side Officers of the Evidence Technicians Unit. Hands on activities include dusting, lifting, and classifying fingerprints, casting foot impressions, photographing a mock crime scene, evidence collection, and interviewing techniques. This CSI camp session will be offered to youth age 12 – 16 years old who have already been through our “regular” Jr. Police Academy Camp. This program will give a more in depth view of the work of an evidence technician. Campers will work together to “solve the crime” and to prove their case in our mock court.
