NYS 590 Realignment and Reconstruction
This is a project of the New York State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT). It consists of major reconstruction work on NYS Route 590 in the Town of Irondequoit. The primary objective is to reconstruct and realign 590 to meet the long term transportation needs of vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic.
Intersection reconstruction, including roundabouts, will occur as part of this project. Sidewalks, a multi-use path, drainage improvements, traffic controls, signing, and pavement marking improvements will also be incorporated within the project.
The project includes 1.83 miles of NYS Route 590, beginning just south of Titus Avenue and extending northerly along 590 to the intersection with Culver Road. In addition, the following streets intersect the project area and will be affected: Kane Drive, Titus Avenue, Titus Avenue Extension, Seneca Road, Point Pleasant Road, Durand Boulevard, and Peart Avenue.
