The Town Clerk is the: Receiver of Taxes (Town, county, special assessment, school); licensing officer for the sale of licenses and permits (e.g., dog, marriage, conservation, games of chance, bingo); Sub-Registrar of Vital Statistics for producing burial permits and for cemetery sales; Coordinator with the Monroe County Board of Elections to prepare election districts and provide election inspectors for general and primary elections in Irondequoit; and Records Management Officer for the retention and disposition of all Town documents including the proceedings of the Town Board. As Records Access Information Officer, the Clerk coordinates Freedom of Information requests with the appropriate departments to obtain information promptly. The Clerk is also responsible for bid openings, legal notices, and administration of oaths of office.
