Current Development Projects
  • New Irondequoit Public Library
  • In December of 2013 the residents of Irondequoit voted to approve a plan for a new Irondequoit Public Library on the Town Hall Campus. Ground was broken in April of 2014 and the new facility opened in September of 2015.

  • I-Square
  • I-Square, LLC was established in March 2011 to redevelop and revitalize a distressed retail/residential area property in the Cooper-Hudson-Titus Avenue Area of the town of Irondequoit, NY. I-Square property is approximately 2.5 acres and is owned and operated by Michael Nolan, a resident of Irondequoit.

  • Tops Friendly Market/Depot Plaza Development Proposal
    In the Fall of 2012 LB 1999-C1 Depot Plaza, LLC C\O proposed to demolish a portion of the previous K-Mart Plaza at 999 East Ridge Road and construct a 52,000+ sq. ft. Tops Friendly Market, related fuel station, 5,000+ sq. ft. out parcel and renovate the facade and layout of a portion of the current structure.

  • Irondequoit is committed to proactively promoting development and redevelopment activities as part of its long-term plan for sustainable community development and fiscal health.   • Irondequoit is dedicated to being an active partner with those interested in developing or redeveloping in the Town of Irondequoit. As a resource we have provided a list of funding opportunities available.

  • Building Permits
  • The Town of Irondequoit enforces applicable state regulations set forth in the NYS Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code (Uniform Code) when issuing building permits and fire marshal permits.

  • The Department of State offers a wide range of issues specific reports and guides.

  • State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA)
  • The Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) oversees the compliance with the SEQRA. Although some projects are exempt from environmental review, SEQRA compliance is often required for Planning Board actions and some Zoning Board of Appeals actions. The NYSDEC’s SEQRA Handbook is available online and provides a detailed overview of the process and required steps.
