TOWN HALL & REALTOR COMMUNITY PARTNER TO PROMOTE IRONDEQUOIT

Supervisor Dave Seeley announced a partnership between the Town of Irondequoit and a coalition of Irondequoit-based realtors to cooperatively promote and market the Community. The initiative, the first implementation of a long-planned “Market Irondequoit” campaign, will highlight the town’s strengths and assets, particularly those of interest to prospective home buyers. This will ultimately include working with the school districts and the business community.

“If you are a family in the area looking to purchase your first home, I want Irondequoit to be on the short list of communities,” said Supervisor Seeley. “We have so many strengths in Irondequoit that make this a wonderful place to live, raise a family and age in place. Our many dedicated realtors and Town Hall share a common goal: to promote the town. This partnership will help better focus that effort."

Over the past several weeks, with input from various realtors engaged in the Irondequoit market, the Town developed a brochure to promote the town’s strengths, including its: tree-lined neighborhoods, strong police department, recent investments in town amenities and strong school systems. The brochure would ideally be disseminated to prospective home buyers at open houses and available for realtors at their request or in a printable form. An interactive version is available online.

Initial members of the coalition include:

  • Al Kerstein, Licensed Real Estate Salesperson, Keller Williams Realty GR
  • Nancy Semal, Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker, Re/Max Plus
  • Erica Walther Schlaefer, Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker, Keller Williams Reality GR
  • Catherine M. Bianchi, Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker, Nothnagle Realtors
  • David Krause, Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker, Re/Max Realty Group
  • Elaine Pelissier, Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker, Keller Williams Realty GR

The goal of this coalition will be to provide a two-way line of communication between Town Hall and the many realtors who attract new residents into Irondequoit. A community meeting of realtors will be planned for the coming months.

“Over the past year, I have come to greatly appreciate my relationship with the many realtors who sell properties in Irondequoit,” said Seeley. “They understand what is going through the mind of someone looking to buy a home. I feel our realtors can both validate certain things going on in Irondequoit, as well to provide honest feedback on things we might do better.”
