The Town of Irondequoit is proud to announce its schedule of events for the Annual July 4th Festival on the Town Hall campus.

“Irondequoit hosts the biggest and most fun-filled Independence Day celebration in the area, and I’m happy to invite both residents and visitors to come to Town Hall for a family-friendly celebration,” said Supervisor Dave Seeley. “We have something for everyone- whether it’s a pie-eating contest to the annual Street Dance to the ever-growing firework display.”

The celebration runs on both Monday, July 3rd and Tuesday, July 4th. Details are as follows:

Arts & Crafts and Community Booths will be open on the lawn both Sunday and Monday from 11am – 11pm. The Pioneer House will be open from Noon- 6pm both days.

Horseshoe Pitching Tournament

Street Dance

The Annual Street Dance will begin at 7pm on Titus Ave, featuring Nik Lite.

Entertainment will also be provided in the Beverage Garden, from 3:00pm to 10:30pm. A full line-up of performers is available here.

July 4th

10K & 2 mile Fun Run

The Annual 10K and 2 Mile Fun Run will take place the morning of July 4th, starting at Christ the King Church, 445 Kings Highway South. The 2 mile and 10K walkers will begin at 7:45 AM; the 10K will begin at 8:15AM. Registration can be completed online at or at Christ the King on July 3rd from 6-8pm or the morning of the race from 6:30-7:30am.



The area’s largest parade begins on Tuesday at 11am along Cooper Rd and Titus Ave, ending at Town Hall. Parade line-up will take place at Irondequoit High School. Before marching, children ages 5-12 are invited to participate in a Decorated Bike Contest, judging begins at 9:45am at the High School.

Declaration of Independence

The Town’s newest tradition, the reading of the Declaration of Independence, will take place on the steps of Town Hall, at approximately 1:00pm (after the parade).

Naturalization Ceremony

Beginning at 1:30pm (following the Declaration reading) we will celebrate our country by welcoming its latest citizens on the front steps of Town Hall.

Red, White & Chew Pie Eating Contest

At 2pm, the Town will renew an old tradition with a Pie Eating Contest, sponsored by Herrema’s Market Place. This will take place in front of the Gazebo on the west lawn. Interested contestants can call 336-6034 to register, adults (18 and over) only.


Kids Activities

Activities will be provided for kids throughout the afternoon of July 4th on the West Lawn, including a juggling, face painting, a magic show and more. Free Entertainment is provided throughout the day at the Kiwanis Performing Arts Center at the Gazebo. Of course, visitors can listen to live music throughout the day in the Beverage Garden.


The evening ends with the annual fireworks display. The display will begin at dusk (approximately 9:30pm), and will be set off behind Town Hall.

The Irondequoit July 4th Festival is a pet-free event, although guide dogs are welcome. An ATM is available on site. Admission is free.
